God, please bless America
Why don’t America’s two major political parties cut to the chase and decide who the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates will be by 11 AM ET this morning?
Then America’s presidential election could be stolen held tonight and what’s left of the Christmas season could be rescued from all of the lying, grandstanding, pandering, equivocating, proselytising and flip-flopping by this latest gaggle of pretenders to the throne. As an added bonus, President Bush would be out of a job a year early.
Oh come now, my dears and good men. With just under a year before the November general election, you’re already somewhere between disgusted, bemused and underwhelmed by the “choices” you have, aren’t you? Yes, you are. And you should be.
Tragically, you who comprise the American electorate have become beggars to your own demise. No? Then please explain the function of the Electoral College. Whilst champing at that bit, face facts: the Democrats are a party of do-nothings and the Republicans are hell bent on doing the wrong things. Which fork in the road will be chosen for you this fall?
The people who say they want to be your next pimp, er, um, president are talking to you, the American electorate, as if you are vying for the opportunity to serve them. It’s the other way around. You’re already paying enough money for the carrots they’re dangling in your faces, like universal health care. But alas, your money is being spent to reduce infant mortality in Afghanistan.
*sigh* Honestly, America couldn’t be any worse under the Crown. Yes, I said it. As it is, this (ahem) republic … is being run by an absolute monarch who regularly and brazenly flouts the U.S. Constitution. And he does this with utter impunity.
Oh country tis of thee … where are your liberties?
I ask anyone who’d care to answer, who is George W. Bush to export “democracy” to any country? Where is the democracy in this country? Mobile phones? Tapped. Google searches? Stored. Rented DVDs from Blockbuster? Logged. Privacy? Gone.
Would but that I had £1,000 (that’s pounds, not dollars) for the number of times I’ve heard or read that America is the greatest country in the world. No it isn’t. It isn’t and it hasn’t been since Bush XLIII was selected as its commander in thief. America is coming apart at the seams socially, politically and economically and Bush is smirking through it all.
Incidentally, have you noticed that there seems to be a direct correlation between Bush’s approval rating and the strength of the American dollar?
Today, America’s number one export is hatred. Even its allies in Western Europe and Southern Asia don’t really like America. But for all of her hypocrisy and hegemony, America’s allies like her enemies even less, in part because they know that if the geopolitical block gets too hot, Uncle Sam will “hunt ‘em down and smoke ‘em out.” Merry Christmas, Osama!!!
Within its borders, Americans are as on edge as they’ve been since the 60s. People are losing their homes, uninsured, living in fear of being sacked each Friday, drowning in debt just to make ends meet and Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant.
